Minutes of the Committee Meeting of the
Albrighton & District Civic Society
held at 31/32 High St, Albrighton,
on Monday 12th March 2018 at 2pm

David Brady joined the meeting at 4pm to discuss the Club Event Day
1. Apologies received from Peter Illes and David Thomas (ex-officio representing Boningale PC)
2. Minutes of Meeting of 5th February 2018 were approved.
3. Treasurer’s Report.– MP reported that the bank balance was £3,106.88
4. To consider progress in regard to following main issues
a) Village Entrances Scheme.
MP reported that the crocuses were now starting to show on the village green. Daffodils have been ordered.
b) Eyesores.
ACTION: BH will ask his contact at SC to replace the bollard at the roundabout on Cross Rd/Albert Rd
5. Matters arising
a) Albrighton Leaflet. GR suggested that this was best looked at after the Business Forum had met on 26th March.
b) Albrighton Club and Society Event.
It seems that the event is being well received by many clubs. David Brady reported that there may be 51 clubs attending but he needed to get firm confirmations nearer the day.
c) Red House. Jenny Wynn wants to meet PW and RS to discuss liaison/co-operation. Date to be fixed.
e) Community chest. ACTION: PW to follow up with the surgery
6. AOB
a) School Awards Scheme ACTION: PW to ask RAF CO to join the judging team
b) Flower Competition. RS reported that an announcement had been placed in the Magazine
Next meeting: 2pm. Monday 9th April 2018 at 31/32 High St. (Peter Woodman’s house).
Following Meeting will be at 2pm on Monday 14th May 2018. Second Monday due to bank holiday
DATES FOR YOUR DIARY: - Public Meeting & AGM is at 7.00pm on Monday 8th October 2018 All future AGMs are on the second Monday of October
